Welcome to the iCHALLENGED Film Festival Competition Rules page! Here, you'll find all the essential guidelines and requirements for participating in our unique mystery box film competition. Eligibility
This is a National United States Film Festival Competition, the Filmmaker must be a legal resident or legal visitor of the United States. A Filmmaker is not eligible if they are one of the following: employee, producer, contractor, director or officer of iCHALLENGED Film Festival or Brave Queen Media. (iCHALLENGED), or the immediate family member of any Project Partner (e.g., spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or step child) or those living in their same household. Void where prohibited.

Registration fees for THE BOX is $45 -$55 depending on when you register. Registration for iCHALLENGED will open up July 2024 and close September 27th, 2024.
Official Filmmaking Period
In the United States, The iCHALLENGED production period starts the last week of September 2024 and Closes November 8th, 2024. This means all final submissions should be uploaded to FilmFreeway by end of day (EOD) on Nov 8th. The Interview Period will start mid-October 2024 and go through November 2024.
Withdrawing from the iCHALLENGED
iCHALLENGED Film Festival Refunds in the United States
If a Filmmaker must withdraw, refunds will be paid on the following schedule:

Early registrants (before September 1, 2024):

Refunds requested within 48 hours of the initial submission date will be processed minus $30 administrative fee for THE BOX and a $15 administrative fee for THE Envelope.

Receive a 50% refund of your registration fee if you cancel before September 1, 2024. No monetary refunds will be issued after that date.

Refund Alternative: Request to transfer 100% of the registration fee to the 2025 iCHALLENGED festival. If the cost of the festival increases, you will be locked into the 2024 price and no other fees will be required.

Late registrants (after September 1, 2024):

Transfer 75% of their registration fee to the 2025 iCHALLENGED festival. No monetary refunds will be issued, and you’ll be invoiced the balance to complete your registration at the 2025 price. Failure to complete registration in 2025 will result in full forfeiture of your registration fee.

Participation of Minors
Filmmakers must be 18 years of age or older to compete and claim any potential prizes for winning, in either category. Minors are allowed to participate or act in a submitters film, however it is the filmmakers responsibility to follow all local child labor laws. Brave Queen Media can not be held liable for the use of Minors in any film production associated with iCHALLANEGED. Furthermore, the endangerment or abuse of a Minor in any film is strictly prohibited! Doing so will result in immediate disqualification. Documentation of Parental Consent must be supplied.
In addition, Minors who wish to compete as filmmakers may do so if a Parent or Guardian submits on their behalf as the “Producer” of their project. Parents or Guardians will be responsible for all liability related to filming as well as documentation and claiming of any potential prizes.
Filmmakers Agreement
By registering/participating, you are agreeing to allow Brave Queen Media to host your film on their YouTube Channel in perpetuity, as well as use of any footage obtained through this festival in future projects or promotional material for any iCHALLENGED related projects, shows, festivals or events. See iCHALLANGED release document for more information.
As a condition of entry, participants must agree to the iCHALLENGED Agreement, which sets forth the rights of Entrant and iCHALLENGED with respect to the use of Entries by iCHALLENGED. Entries that do not include all required information and/or do not adhere to the foregoing and following requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in this iCHALLENGED Film Festival.
Production Costs
All costs associated with the production of the Entry are solely the responsibility of the Entrant.
Production Kickoff!
Production starts the second your package arrives. All kits will ship out at the end of September. Every filmmaker will have until November 8, 2024 to update the Project they entered with and upload their finished film.
Basic Requirements of the Project
Entrants must adhere to the official iCHALLENGED Filmmaking Rules as well as be prepared to partake in the iCHALLENGED Filmmaker Interviews. - FILMMAKING RULES
Project Terms of Submission
By submitting an Entry into this iCHALLENGED Film Festival, each Entrant warrants and represents that the Entrant owns all rights to the Entry they are entering in this Project, including, without limitation, the video or digital recording, and the performance contained in each Entry, with the exception of any assets provided by the iCHALLENGED for use by Entrants in connection with this Project. Each Entrant further warrants and represents that the Entrant has obtained permission from each person who appears in the Entry to grant the rights to the Project Parties described in these Official Rules, and will submit copies of such permissions to the Project Parties. By submitting an Entry, Entrant agrees to the Official Rules, and further agrees to indemnify and hold the iCHALLENGED, Project Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders or other partners, and any of their employees (collectively, the Project Indemnitees), harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Project Indemnitees due to or arising out of the Entrant's Entry materials in this Project, or the Entrant's conduct during and in connection with this Project, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights, right of publicity, right of privacy or defamation. Entrant agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless iCHALLENGED and the Project Parties from any and all claims that any advertising, presentation, web content or any other material subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of iCHALLENGED or the Project Parties infringes on the rights of Entrant's work as contained in any Entry.
Selection of Winners
All films will be judged on the following criteria and receive a rating out of 10. 60% of your final score will be based on the judges rating and 40% will be based on the audience how well your video performs on the YouTube Platform.

Keep in mind, films that don’t follow the filmmaking rules and meet the basic criteria will be disqualified and no longer screened or considered for the award. So follow the directions carefully!
iCHALLENGED Film Festival Winner
The Top Entry in each category will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken based on the highest score in the first Judging Criteria, continuing thereafter to each Judging Criteria in order, as needed to break the tie. Entrants agree that the iCHALLENGED has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this iCHALLENGED Film Festival and that all decisions of iCHALLENGED are final and binding.
Category Winner Prize
The top Entry in each category will be awarded Best Picture as well as the Prize Filmmaking Kit associated with your category. Also, top filmmakers, regardless of winning, will be invited to interview for the iCHALLENGED Series & Pre-Screening qualifiers will be invited to compete. Furthermore, the top 10 films in either category will be screened at the Season 2 iCHALLENGED Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA. Those filmmakers will also be provided with a complimentary ticket to the event.
General Conditions
By participating, Entrants agree to these Official Rules which are final and binding in all respects. The iCHALLENGED Film Festival is governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC, USA, and all claims must be resolved in the District of Columbia courts or the Federal courts located in the District of Columbia.
Limitations of Liability and Release
No liability or responsibility is assumed by iCHALLENGED, Brave Queen Media or Project Parties resulting from any user's participation in or attempt to participate in the iCHALLENGED Film Festival or ability or inability to upload or download any information in connection with participating in the Project. No responsibility or liability is assumed by the iCHALLENGED, Brave Queen Media or Project Parties for technical problems or technical malfunction arising in connection with any of the following occurrences which may affect the operation of the Project: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, hosts or providers; garbled, jumbled or faulty data transmissions; failure of any e-mail transmissions to be sent or received; lost, late, delayed or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Web Site in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestion on the Internet or the Web Site; unauthorized human or non-human intervention of the operation of the Project, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any aspect of the Project, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility or unavailability of an email account used in connection with the Project. iCHALLENGED, Brave Queen Media and Project Parties are not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Web Site or social media sites maintained by the iCHALLENGED Film Festival. Use of Web Site and the iCHALLENGED's social media sites is at user's own risk. iCHALLENGED, Brave Queen Media and the Project Parties are not responsible for any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind which may be sustained to user's or any other person's computer equipment resulting from participation in the Project, use of the Web Site or the download of any information from the Web Site. By participating in the Project, Entrant agrees to release, indemnify and hold iCHALLENGED, Brave Queen Media and Project Parties harmless from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such Entrant's participation in the Project.
Winners
Winners will be posted online at iCHALLENGED Film Festival website and across all of Brave Queen Media’s social platforms. Including but not limited to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok & Twitter.
